"The idea of this book, that we hope will be the first of a series, comes about through the curiosity to observe the alchemy generated by new encounters, contemporary artists who exchange views on Scarpa's spaces and give us their emotions in images.
First among these artists is Mario Cresci, formerly a student in Venice at the Advanced Course of Industrial Design and one of Scarpa's students, a photographer able to capture the soul of the places and the things. Called on to document the past of the Scatturin home, to preserve the memory and emotions over time, and to witness the beginning of a new life for the house due to the change of ownership, a story has come to light where the protagonists are not only the rooms and objects but also the characters who animated these rooms in the past, and the walls of Venice, the drawings of Tancredi Parmeggiani who spent some time here... A recollection and at the same time an invitation to repeat the experience with other artists who could give a different impression." Maria Cagnoli
