Sewing ‘the conveyor crack’

Filling in a crack, a fissure, a wound, with a painterly gesture. This is the meaning of the work ‘The Crack’ (2019), conceived as a specific project in a private home for the client who asked me to heal the sign of the architecture’s deterioration due to the passing of time using my action and my thought. That narrow line which cuts through the surface of an entire wall is also there to represent a thread that connects the people who have passed through it to the history of that place: Luigi Scatturin, the client who commissioned the home and who lived in it until about ten years ago; Carlo Scarpa, the architect who designed it; Tancredi, his relative, the artist who painted there for a period of time; Maria Cagnoli Barcella, the collector who commissioned the work and who is caring for the space and the work.
