Each “Gemmation” needs about two to four years to be completed. The first “Gemmation” started in 2015 and had been finishes in 2018.
“Gemmation” is a small canvas painted horizontally, placed on the floor alongside the “Infinite Painting”.
It takes two to four years for each “Gemmation” to take shape.
The “Gemmations” are derivations of the “Infinite Painting”. It is as though the work had started to sprout, as though a small piece had detached itself from the same painting and started to self-generate independently. A form of filiation like the one that happens to jellyfish in the natural world.
The base that supports it was conceived as though it were an overturned frame, or more like the glass that usually covers and protects a painting and which in this case is the support, the one which extends the pictorial material towards the eye of the viewer.
