Work description and interpretation
Painted paper and musive glass on a painted wood base. This work was conceived for the "L'Unità di misura è il colore" exhibition at the Museum of Castelvecchio. My idea was to respect one of Carlo Scarpa’s intuitions that often show us the back as the front. He shows us what we don’t normally see. The back becomes the front. On the ground floor, in the sculpture gallery at the entrance to the museum we find ourselves behind “Saint Cecilia”. Seen from behind she appears to be looking down and ahead. I imagined filling the space that she appears to be indicating to us with my work. Scarpa’s base doubles. A toppled pink wall, painted inside the room, absorbing the colours around it, on which a mosaic of Paper-Diaries and Paper-Glass is composed. The idea of variation, of repetition never identical to itself, of the individual that is a unique piece, that is already “a whole” and that produces another feeling every time it is put in relation to another whole, gets close to the theme of the module in Carlo Scarpa. The module of the square that Scarpa used in the “Sacello” just outside the “Saint Cecilia” room and the square of the gold mosaics that I used in my work is the one that Scarpa used, for example in the insertions in the cement of the walls in the Fondazione Querini garden in Venice, even if mine is a square broken by my gesture and is never the same twice.
"Parete rovesciata is a coloured tile the same size as the pedestal for the Santa Cecilia sculpture: the architect had carefully studied the position of both the work and its support. Morganti’s work is a replica of Scarpa’s base which floats on the concrete floor; on the surface she has laid delicately-coloured papers painted with oil pastels and which she has carefully guarded for eleven years; these are juxtaposed to coloured glass “pages” in mosaic, a technique the artist used in her work for the first time for her 2009 show in the Tognon gallery, Venice. Here too we can see common elements which, once again, link the work to the architecture: the internal/external relationship and modules."

Series description and interpretation
Paper’s Specific projects
The sequence of the Papers occasionally takes a different order, as if to say that the order of things is arbitrary and can be reorganised differently every time.
These works are used like fragments, mosaic pieces to relate with different spaces.
A pictorial substance produced inside my studio that relates to external spaces becomes a pictorial gesture within the architecture. The number, type and colour of the pieces of paper used is determined by the space that houses them.
