Touching the Earth with My Own Colour

Moving the gesture into the space This small work came about in parallel with the “bowl paintings” and the conception of the “photo-painting” (my hands with those of my mother). This square of terracotta was touched numerous times with my finger covered in colour, by the painterly substance that was formed in my bowl every day for a few months. The colour moved into the space instead of constantly being layered in the same place. The colour touches, grazes the substance-earth that I started working with many years ago.
