Expansites
Words, images, colours, objects, sounds and moving images in a room painted the colour of sludge.
Projections of thoughts, facts, visions extracted from the site become panels, prints, video screenings or sound immersion inside a space.
The “Sitemind”, which sprang from the observation of the painting process, is the virtual space, which is transformed into the “Expansite”, or physical space, becoming a concrete space to stay in. It is as though the reasoning of the thought were projected in real images before which we can relate directly with our bodies. It is as if the visions of the mind-site had escaped from the cranial-case to make themselves visible.
This is the movement that has led us here: from the tangible relationship with the painting substance in the concrete space of the studio to the abstract space of the mind; from the mental space of reasoning to the simulated space of the network which has helped us to visualise it and open it up to the relationship with others; then finally returning to the concrete presence of the representation in the real space.
Depending on the spaces that accommodate it, the “Expansite” can contain any number of single works, each of which can also live independently.
