Inside the painting

Work description and interpretation
This coring was carried out in a restoration lab to analyse a fragment measuring approximately 1.5 x 0.3cm extracted from the Infinite Painting. It has been enlarged on this wallpaper and repeated lots of times until it covers an entire room. We are small inside the space and find ourselves standing before a macro vision of the detail. We immerse ourselves in the stratification of the painting substance that has formed day after day over ten years through the daily ritual of painting. This work can be used either alone or as the background to my Sedimentations or the works of other painters.

Core Samples
How do you show the internal and concentrated gesture of stratification? How do you deal with a large space starting from a small gesture? How do you get straight to the heart of the matter? How do you show the most internal part, the central lump, the essence, the deepest point of the time-substance that has been stratified on the “Infinite Painting” over the years? How do you delicately and carefully hold the internal heart of this organism that I call the “Infinite Painting” and bring it out? The urge to examine the “Infinite Painting” arose from these questions.
