Shrunken Substitute

The ‘Substitute’ is the double of the ‘Gestureplace’. It is the space that allows the painterly gesture to be taken towards the outside.
It has been made small here in order to be understood and embraced, but also to be kept alongside its alter ego.
The shell, the room it refers to, is the portion of my studio on the ground floor where I work with the substance.
