Work description and interpretation
Cards and glass mosaic plates hanging on the wall with steel pins.
"In 2009 at Palazzo da Ponte Maria Morganti presents an exhibition in which she creates a relationship between the diary papers and the mosaic tiles produced by the Lucio Orsoni glass factory. Visiting the factory, she realised that the production method of this substance matches her way of thinking about painting: three layers, each allowing the one below to be seen. She always starts with red, the mosaic tiles with blue. On this occasion it is the meeting itself – as the artist defines it – that generates the idea of the display, in which the mosaic tiles lie alongside the painted sheets of paper. The relationship between shapes, colours, substances and practices thus becomes the bond between different identities. She is not interested in ‘inventing, but finding, recognising something that is already there’. What is thus generated is a semantic need for a connection of the part with the whole; the fragment is a part that contains within it the meaning of the whole from which it is generated."

Series description and interpretation
Paper’s Specific projects
The sequence of the Papers occasionally takes a different order, as if to say that the order of things is arbitrary and can be reorganised differently every time.
These works are used like fragments, mosaic pieces to relate with different spaces.
A pictorial substance produced inside my studio that relates to external spaces becomes a pictorial gesture within the architecture. The number, type and colour of the pieces of paper used is determined by the space that houses them.
